REAL INSIGHT was established to provide its clients with professional, independent and accurate property valuations.

Director - Professional Associated Valuer.
Theuns joined Real Insight after having spent the previous 2½ years as Asset and Investment Manager at M&T Development. He previously held the position of Head – Cross-Border Debt at Absa Commercial Property Finance.
Theuns is registered as a Professional Associated Valuer and has extensive experience in the property finance, asset management and development fields having worked for both Absa and Standard Bank’s Property Finance Divisions.
Theuns has interacted with a number of large property investors and developers such as Zenprop, Abland, McCormick Group and Retail Africa. He has been involved in various commercial and leisure developments in Mauritius, Seychelles, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Ghana and Kenya.
Hayden qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA). He was previously the Managing Director of Property Index Tracker Managers, having established a niche listed property asset management division for a Listed Property Group.
Hayden spent a number of years with the Royal Bank of Canada in London where he was involved in the credit underwriting and deal structure, execution and distribution of Infrastructure Loan Assets through both the Debt Capital Markets and Bank Syndication Markets.
He gained extensive exposure to innovative bond funding structures. Notable transactions were Sunderland Housing Finance PLC (AA- GBP 240 Million, 40 Year amortizing bond) and Harbor Funding PLC (AA- GBP 200 Million, 30 Bullet bond – The first 30 year bullet bond structure in the UK market) Prior to gaining experience abroad, Hayden was a Senior Manager at Standard Bank Property Finance, where he was involved in structured loan finance and asset management of securities within the listed property sector in South Africa.
“Peter, a qualified Chartered Accountant (S.A.), was until recently the financial director and chief financial officer of Emira Property Fund, a property unit trust listed on the JSE.
He retired after spending over 7 years with Emira and subsequently joined Real Insight in order to provide debt advisory services to various clients, both listed and unlisted. Peter has been involved with the property industry for more than 30 years, having joined Anglo American Properties (Amaprop) after completing articles at a firm which is now part of KPMG.
After 17 years with Amaprop, he joined the property investment division of the Coronation Investment and Trading group. He was then appointed as financial director of Freestone Property Holdings Ltd, a listed property company and subsequently as financial director of Emira, when Freestone was acquired by Emira.”
Professional Associated Valuer
Johan joined Real Insight after finishing his studies at the University of Pretoria..
Johan has completed his Degree in Real Estate and then his Honours in Real Estate at the end of 2014. Johan is a Professional Associated Valuer registered with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession.
Johan has gained experience in several facets of the valuation industry which includes due diligence work for acquisitions, valuations for Annual Financial Statements and municipal valuation objections.
Ben has spent 10 years in building construction and project management before he decided to pursue a career in property valuations.
For the past 15 years he carried out more than 15 000 property valuations for various clients including Denel, Mr. Price, Landbank, ABSA, Nedbank, Old Mutual Bank, Macquarie, Broll, Massbuild, City of Cape Town etc.
He also has first-hand experience in facilitating property transactions and has been a commercial property broker for a number of years. Ben is registered as a Professional Valuer with the SACPVP.
Prudence has over 5 years of Town and Regional Planning related work experience and is currently pursuing Build Environment postgraduate studies with specialisation in Property Economics and Valuation.
She joined the team in August 2015, having previously worked at Evaluations Enhanced Property Appraisals for 7 and half years as an Office and Finance Administrator.
She has a vast knowledge of municipal valuations having dealt with queries, objections and appeals for the various Municipalities (Ekurhuleni, City of Johannesburg, Bela-Bela, to name a few). She has a Bookkeeping Certificate from Varsity College as well as Certificate from Sage VIP where she completed the Payroll Administration Course.
